The BUD Fund supports eligible non-listed Hong Kong businesses developing brands, upgrading operations or promoting sales in approved markets outside Hong Kong. General applications can cover a broader project scope. The Government funds up to 25% of approved costs, with a ceiling of HK$800,000 per General project and HK$7 million cumulatively per enterprise across BUD tracks. Every proposal must show how the work develops an eligible market.

Easy BUD is the simplified BUD application route for specified measures, including advertising and exhibitions, intellectual-property registration, testing and certification, promotional websites or apps, and online sales platforms. Every measure must directly develop business in an eligible target market and meet the current guide. It offers up to HK$150,000 per application on a 1:3 Government-to-enterprise matching basis. The applicant must implement the project itself within 12 months. Any grant is paid after completion and acceptance of the final report and audited accounts; the final amount depends on recognised expenditure.
A useful BUD proposal connects a specific market objective to deliverables, supplier quotations, a realistic budget and proof of the applicant’s Hong Kong operations. Navy FAB can scope the digital work, while a funding partner can advise on application requirements. The applicant remains responsible for its submission, and approval is never guaranteed. Check the latest official guide before committing to project costs.
