A Hong Kong Shopify store can use Shopify's own settings for delivery zones, flat rates, free shipping and pickup from its own shop. For SF Express labels and tracking, merchants can use a third-party app such as ShipAny. The two work together: Shopify controls the delivery choices shown to customers, while the logistics provider handles the delivery service and its charges.
Store pickup and a carrier pickup point are different. With store pickup, the customer comes to your own shop. With a carrier point, the parcel is delivered to a location such as an SF Express station or locker for collection. Check the customer's selection at checkout as well as the label your team produces afterwards.
Information in this guide was checked on 8 November 2026. App services, prices and available locations can vary by account, Shopify plan and carrier.
Which delivery setup fits your store?
| Method | Best suited to | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Flat rate or free shipping | Stores that want a simple delivery price at checkout | Set delivery zones and prices in Shopify; handle the actual label through a carrier or app. |
| Pickup at your own store | Businesses with a shop or collection location | Use Shopify's pickup-in-store feature and set the location and notification process. |
| SF Express station or locker | Customers who prefer a carrier collection point | Consider an app such as ShipAny and confirm checkout selection, locations and plan requirements. |
| Door-to-door or cold-chain delivery | Parcels requiring delivery to an address or temperature-controlled handling | Choose a carrier and connection that offer the service for the product and destination. |
For a small number of orders, flat rates and a carrier's own label workflow may be enough. Batch labels, pickup-point selection and tracking in Shopify can justify comparing apps as order handling becomes more involved. Start with the workflow your staff and customers need, then price it.
Set up delivery zones and shipping rates in Shopify
In Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Shipping and delivery. Set the delivery areas and rates for your products. Shopify supports flat rates and conditions based on order value or product weight: for example, you can charge a fixed Hong Kong delivery fee and offer free shipping above a chosen order value. If you use weight conditions, enter product weights first and test different combinations of items.
Shopify is gradually moving some stores' shipping settings to Markets, so the screen you see may differ. Follow Shopify's shipping rates guide or its shipping options by market guide for your store's interface.
What the customer pays at checkout does not have to equal the carrier's charge to you. You may decide to subsidise delivery, but allow for packaging, remote-area surcharges, returns and parcel weight when setting your price.
Is real-time carrier pricing included on every plan?
Third-party carrier-calculated shipping is a separate feature from flat rates. Shopify currently lists it as included with Advanced and Plus, included with Grow on annual billing, or available for an additional monthly fee on monthly-billed Grow. It is not available on other plans. Supported carrier accounts and regions have their own conditions. ShipAny's Shopify setup guide says displaying all logistics options at checkout requires CCS; without CCS, that setting should be switched off. Check the account and plan requirements for individual pickup-point and quoting features rather than assuming that an app which creates labels can also show live rates at checkout on every plan. See Shopify's plan and carrier requirements.
Connecting SF Express through ShipAny
The ShipAny Shopify app lists SF Express, SF Cold-Chain, SF Locker and other services. It describes creating and printing waybills, requesting collection, showing pickup points at checkout and returning a tracking link to Shopify orders. Available services and pickup options depend on your account, delivery area, app configuration and Shopify plan.
A practical setup process is:
- Decide what you are shipping, parcel dimensions, delivery areas and whether you need sender-paid, receiver-paid, door-to-door or pickup services.
- Review ShipAny in the Shopify App Store, then open and connect an account following the provider's instructions. Choose the carriers and services you need.
- Configure the delivery areas and customer-facing shipping rates in Shopify. If customers need to choose a carrier pickup point at checkout, configure the available option for your account.
- Place a test order. Check delivery choices, addresses and collection details; then create the waybill and review the tracking information and order status.
- Test cancellation, refunds or returns and reconcile the logistics bill. Do not assume that every return or refund is handled automatically; the process depends on the service and carrier agreement.
ShipAny is one option. If you already have a carrier account or warehouse system, compare its Shopify app, existing integration or a custom connection. Check how order data is transferred, who resolves failed submissions, whether tracking returns to the order and what the whole workflow costs.
How much do ShipAny and SF Express cost?
ShipAny's Hong Kong pricing page lists its sender-paid plan at HK$0 per month with no service handling fee; actual delivery charges are separate. For receiver-paid waybills, it lists no handling fee for the first 500 each month and HK$2 per waybill thereafter. These are ShipAny's published conditions, not a universal SF Express price list.
The same page lists the logistics pickup-point list at HK$100 per month and says the monthly fee is waived when one shipment is made in the month. Confirm whether that service and waiver apply to your Shopify connection, what counts as a shipment and how it will appear on your bill. The Shopify App Store listing says the app is free to install, additional charges may apply, and its listed charges are billed in USD. ShipAny's Hong Kong service page displays HKD prices; use your actual account terms and invoice to establish how you will be billed.
Free installation does not mean free delivery. Rates depend on weight, dimensions, origin, destination, service and surcharges. Allow separately for cold-chain, remote areas and returns. The ShipAny shipping calculator is a starting point for a quote.
A simple monthly budget example
Suppose a store receives 200 orders a month: 160 sender-paid local deliveries and 40 collections from its own shop. For illustration, assume the carrier quotes HK$30 for each of the 160 parcels and packaging costs HK$3 per parcel. These figures are examples, not SF Express or ShipAny quotations.
- Delivery: 160 × HK$30 = HK$4,800.
- Parcel packaging: 160 × HK$3 = HK$480.
- Illustrative subtotal: HK$4,800 + HK$480 = HK$5,280.
The subtotal excludes Shopify subscription, app or pickup-point add-ons, returns, cold-chain, remote-area surcharges, taxes and staff time. An unknown cost is not automatically zero. If customers pay a delivery fee, show that shipping income separately before calculating the amount the business bears. For a wider budget, see our Shopify Hong Kong pricing guide.
Store pickup, carrier pickup and local delivery
Pickup from your own shop: Shopify can offer pickup at your own location during checkout. Set up a location that fulfils online orders and add your opening hours and collection instructions. Once staff have prepared the goods, follow Shopify's process to notify the customer. This is different from delivery to a carrier's locker. See Shopify's pickup-in-store guide.
SF Express station or locker: The carrier takes the parcel to its collection network and notifies the customer. Shopify’s native pickup-point documentation does not list a Hong Kong carrier; an eligible custom app on Plus is a separate option. ShipAny's app listing describes pickup-point selection at checkout, but the display, locations and charges depend on service conditions and setup. Test selection on a phone and a desktop, and check that the order and waybill show the same information.
Local delivery: If your own team delivers nearby, Shopify also has a local-delivery setting. Shopify warns that local delivery can conflict with some third-party shipping apps or accelerated checkout methods, and customer addresses must meet its conditions. Test Hong Kong address formats and your actual delivery area before offering the option. See Shopify's local-delivery requirements.
Cold-chain, cross-border orders and returns
For frozen, chilled or temperature-sensitive products, check the carrier's service area, cut-off time, eligible goods, packaging and temperature requirements. ShipAny lists SF Cold-Chain, but that does not establish eligibility for every product or address; obtain a quote for your goods and destination.
For overseas orders, establish customs information, declared values, who pays duties and taxes, prohibited goods and the return process. Domestic rates should not simply be carried over to international orders. Test checkout with different destinations and parcel weights.
Before launch, have staff run a test order through delivery or pickup selection, payment, label creation, tracking, customer notification, failed delivery and return. Reconcile the Shopify order, logistics bill and inventory. If you use cash on delivery or a third-party warehouse, check settlement and the information exchanged between systems. Decide who owns each step so an order is not shipped twice.
If you need to connect delivery, a warehouse or another system, list your carriers, order volume, pickup options and existing software before discussing Shopify store design and development with Navy FAB.

Common Questions
Can Shopify connect to SF Express in Hong Kong?
Yes. A merchant can use a third-party app such as ShipAny for SF Express waybills and related delivery workflows. Check the sender-paid, receiver-paid, pickup or cold-chain service you need and the account and plan conditions.
Can Shopify offer free shipping?
Yes. Shopify can set flat rates and conditions based on order value or weight, including free shipping above a chosen amount. Free shipping means the customer does not pay that delivery charge at checkout; the merchant still pays the actual fulfilment cost.
Is an SF Express locker the same as Shopify's pickup-in-store feature?
No. Shopify's store pickup is collection from your own location. An SF Express locker belongs to a carrier collection network. A compatible app or eligible custom solution may provide carrier pickup points; check the service and plan requirements for checkout selection.
Do I always need a separate SF Express account to use ShipAny?
ShipAny's Hong Kong pricing page says its sender-paid and receiver-paid plans do not require an individually opened carrier account. If you want to use your own carrier agreement or a particular service, confirm the connection and terms first.
Does free installation mean ShipAny has no other shipping charges?
No. The app listing says it is free to install and additional charges may apply; delivery and selected services are still payable. ShipAny's Hong Kong pricing page also lists individual services and waiver conditions.
How should I check tracking and returns?
Create a waybill for a test order and verify the expected tracking information in Shopify. Then simulate a cancellation or return and reconcile the carrier, payment and inventory records. Automation varies by service.
